Stanley Cup Final Preview TLPDS

2026 Vegas vs Carolina Stanley Cup Final Series Notes Part 1: What The Numbers/Odds Say Carolina is the favorite to win cup at -155 best series prop is Carolina to win in 7 at +425 Oddsmakers think Carolina is the favorite and the public agrees, Carolina in 7 shows the consensus is it won’t be an easy task for Carolina From a non-hockey perspective and figuring the odds are made in Vegas them being the underdog gives a better payout if they win; however Carolina has basically been the one of the favorites to win over the last few years, so it makes sense they would be the favorite Based on actual NHL stats Carolina has a + 1.6 avg goal differential Vegas has a + 1.3; both goalies are under 2.5 GAA so far so i’d expect some low scoring games  Part 2: History in playoffs/cup final Historically both teams have been frontrunners in the playoffs  Vegas never trailed in a series during their 2023 win, didn’t trail until losing 4 straight in the 2018 final, their only two come...

Norris Trophy Halfway Winner

James Norris Winner at the Halfway Point I am going to start this short article by saying I fully understand the qualifications for winning this award now seems to be whoever finishes with the most points. With that being said I think it would be difficult to not give Makar the award, even if that wasn’t the case. If he was 3rd or 4th in points I believe his outstanding +/- of +30 should get him the award. As good as Colorado is and has been for a couple of years now he is without a doubt a main reason for their success. The combination of those two statements and the fact he does lead defenseman in points solidifies my case for him winning the James Norris trophy. One argument you could make against Makar is that compared to other defenseman who will be in the running for the award, such as Werenski or Lane Hutson, his production is only due to being surrounded by high level talent. Whether he is playing with guys like MacKinnon, Necas, and his partner Toews or not doesn’t matte...

2024-25 Tampa vs NYR Perbix scout

Part 1 Defensive Zone Perbix is a solid player without possession in the defensive zone. He is not overly aggressive or overly conservative. He has good positioning and is rarely caught in bad spots in his own zone. His rush defense is very good in the d-zone he understands where to be relative to the puck carrier. He also excels at using his body to close off entries into the zone or disrupt puck carriers. One example of this from our scouting was when he used his size and aggressiveness to shut down a zone entry from Artemi Panarin. Panarin entered the zone then stopped and looked for a pass. Perbix quickly adjusted and was able to hit Panarin before he could make a pass which resulted in a turnover. Perbix has a solid blend of tenacity, aggressiveness, and physicality which allows him to make such plays.  A key part of being a good defender is being able to play well with possession in your own defensive zone. Perbix is able to make smart plays with the puck in his own en...
